On 12.03.2010 the BERM artist collective had their first exhibition called 'BERM' as a group at 'The Appartment' temporary gallery in the Barentzstraat, Amsterdam.
I did a performance throughout the evening called 'Glace Royale'. This involved me masking edges, ridges and the framework of the exhibitionspace with a decorative icing of Glace Royale.
Glace Royale is a substance made of powdered sugar mixed with egg whites and bright food colouring. This is commonly used to finish off, masque and decorate cakes.
Ever since I started my sidejob as a cakedecorater, I developed a weird habit of upon entering a new space I see cracks, edges and cornices in the walls, ceilings and window frames that could be improved by a decorative icing of Glace Royale.
